Here is a brilliant video of indoor navigation app for Symbian^3 being demoed as Nokia World 2010, if this comes to market it will change how people shop.

Parents will be able to keep track of their kids while in shopping centers, potentially this tech could be just used as a tracking app also for kids.

In a surprising and unexpected move, Nokia's Anssi Vanjoki has just resigned, this is possibly down to the fact that Nokia have just installed Stephen Elop formerly of Microsoft.

"I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life. At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. I am also really looking forward to this year's Nokia World and sharing news about exciting new devices and solutions."

Espoo, Finland - Nokia announced today that Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and a member of Nokia Group Executive Board has given notice of resignation from Nokia. Vanjoki, who currently heads Nokia's Mobile Solutions unit, has six months notice period and he will continue in his current tasks for the time being.

"I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life," Anssi Vanjoki says. "At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. Lady Bna-nas, Madcheeze and Introcept are street artists from Australia. But for the 2009 Push N900 competition, they were known as the Light Hack Crew. They love graffiti but they also share a passion for technology. So they created an electronic spray can and hooked it up to a Nokia N900. The spray can creates an LED light source and the hacked N900 captures the beautiful time-lapse images. See for yourself.

Nokia launches mobile TV

People watching video on their mobile devices has become a fairly common sight nowadays. What’s less common is people watching live TV. People are still anxious about data rates, while getting free WiFi or a stable 3G signal remains problematic in many places. What you really need is a TV receiver for your mobile device. And you’re in luck, because Nokia has just launched one – the first such add-on, from anyone.

The Nokia Mobile TV Headset, DVB-H, is all you need to turn your mobile device into a portable television. Anywhere there’s mobile DVB-H (Digital Video Broadband – Handset) coverage, you can tune into sports events or TV shows and watch them without worrying about an Internet connection. DVB-H is also kinder to your battery life than Web TV solutions.

The headset handles call reception and volume in a similar way to other mobile headsets, so you won’t miss calls while you’re watching the game. It also features keys for changing channels and music controls for the player on your handset. There’s an app called Mobile TV available for compatible handsets. It’s either pre-installed on compatible devices or it can be downloaded from the Ovi Store orwww.nokia.com/support.

The Mobile TV Headset works with the forthcoming Nokia N8 and other Symbian^3 devices that come with the USB-on-the-go feature. It is expected to cost €40 before taxes and will appear in Q4 2010.

One word of caution. While it is expanding, DVB-H coverage is still patchy in many countries. Licensing issues and lack of frequency availability have stalled many projects, though there do appear to be working services in the Netherlands, Russia, New Delhi and Helsinki, for example. Check carefully with local dealers before you buy.
